Toxic Substances for Cats

 Cats are a different species, so some things we can eat or ingest may essentially poison them. If you know what your cat has ingested, you can call the ASPCA Animal Control Center for a fee, at (888) 426-4435, or contact a veterinarian immediately.

  • Minoxidil (Rogaine)
  • Mosquito repellant with DEET
  • Nasal decongestants
  • Onions, garlic, chives
  • Pesticides and rodenticides
  • Topical medications
  • Wild mushrooms
